185 FYKE NET BODIES AND LEADERS OF KNOTLESS POLYESTER NETTING Fyke net bodies made of knotless polyester (PES) netting, twine No. 250/12 and 250/18, colour red brown. Very resistant to damages caused by Mitten Crabs. Polyester (PES) material is UV-resistant. Knotless netting of PES has a smooth surface and a better abrasion resistance compared to nylon. It has no exposed knots which can be chafed away. A further advantage of knotless netting is the exact mesh size. There are no knots which might slip. Because of these characteristics it is the ideal material for making eel fyke nets. Marine growth is less and the netting can be cleaned easier. The skins of the fishes do not get hurt because of the smooth surface. Mitten Crab (Chinese Crab) can be a plague to fishermen. With their claws, sharp edged shells and legs they can destroy fyke nets. To withstand this wear and tear all aftends of our fykes are made of heavier polyester twine No. 250/18. Once the aftends are worn down you don't have to replace the whole eel fykes but just to replace the aftends by joining new ones which we offer under the product group 190
